A coalition of domestic and international election observers accredited to observe the July 14 governorship poll in Ekiti State, on Tuesday discredited the poll with their reports, insisting that the election that produced All Progressive Congress Kayode Fayemi as Governor-elect, falls short of global best practices and electoral standards.

Governor of Ekiti, Ayodele Fayose on Tuesday made his first public appearance in Ado Ekiti, state capital after the July 14 poll which produced All Progressives Congress (APC)’s Kayode Fayemi, as governor-elect.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), on Tuesday in Benin commended security agencies over their role in the recently concluded Governorship Elections in Ekiti State.

Isaac Fayose, brother to the outgoing Governor of Ekiti State, Ayodele Fayose, has urged people of the state not watch and allow the governor to die.

The Ekiti State Governor, Ayodele Fayose, on Tuesday made his first public appearance since his party, the Peoples Democratic Party, lost the Saturday’s governorship election.Fayose, who went to the palace of the Ewi of Ado-Ekiti, Oba Rufus Adejugbe, the Aladesanmi III, was mobbed by the people in areas such as Okesa, Oja Bisi, Oja oba, Irona and Oke Oriomi.At the palace of the Ewi, the governor said it was unfortunate that he and his supporters were still being hounded after the election had come and gone.

The Ekiti State House of Assembly has adjourned legislative business until October 8, citing issues of harassment and insecurity.The house, by the resolution, will only resume duties a week to the expiration of the tenure of the governor, Ayo Fayose.The house also condemned and rejected the outcome of Saturday’s governorship election which produced Kayode Fayemi of the All Progressives
